More food and more friends…

Standard

The market closed before we could get food to make dinner so we all decided to venture over the Ponte Vecchio for dinner, which turned out to be quite the adventure. We heard about this restaurant that was supposed to have good food but after getting lost and making way to many wrong turns the place had closed by the time we got there. But at this moment the saying “everything happens for a reason” rang true to its name and we stumbled into a restaurant where we were the only Americans in sight so we knew it had to be good. It was a dead give away that the food was going to be amazing once we all started drooling over the balsamic we put on our fresh bread. After eating every single rigatoni noodle and tomato off my plate we went back towards the Duomo and went out at the Lions Fountain which is an American hang out. It was a good night but we quickly learned that we would rather be going out to local places rather than tourist traps. But it was another night in Italy so it was obviously another phenomenal night in general.

The truth…

Standard

Walking to dinner we walked past a shop that had the quote “quit your job, buy a ticket, fall in love, never return” on its door and something soaked at that moment it made me realize I am at the beginning of the time of my life. So I guess you could say I have quit my job and bought a ticket, now I’m just waiting for the love and then I’ll never return

Wednesday 1/30

Having the option of going out for the second night or having a dinner with old and new friends we all choose to have a quite night and get to know each other a little bit better.  Once I ate my entire Margarita pizza and tomato basil salad I thought that I might explode but conveniently there is a gelato shop on every corner, so we obviously had to stop and enjoy and extremely large tiramisu in a cone with an extra waffle cookie on top.  If this is what Italy has in store all I have to say is good thing we walk everywhere we go!

The first night out…

Standard

After our cooking class where we made homemade sauce, pasta, and tiramisu we meet up with some of the people we meet and had our first night out in Florence, which was one of the most fun nights I’ve had in my entire life.  And in a little Firenze bar I see a Seminole head posted on the wall showing just how small the world really is.

La bella città l’Italia…

Standard

The second day that we were in Florence we took a walking tour of city and saw some of the most beautiful church’s, buildings, and bridges that I thought only existed in pictures.  I know now that pictures cannot even grasp the beauty of the scenery and the breathtaking views that I am surrounded by.
